About the Author
At the age of thirty-five, author Ray Shoemaker has already enjoyed a brilliant career. After serving as a captain in the U.S. Army, he turned to graduate work in business and healthcare administration. Shoemaker turned a struggling facility into a successful medical practice, substantially increasing revenues and profits. His performance gained the attention of the media. The Memphis Business Journal dubbed him "the Turnaround King," and Modern Healthcare magazine recognized him as being one of the top young healthcare executives in the nation, awarding Shoemaker its prestigious Up and Comers award. As the CEO of Rural Healthcare Developers, Shoemaker has used his successful leadership practices to own or manage nine hospitals and senior care facilities in the rural South.
